Bryker Woods: Contemporary-Transitional Charm
The owners wanted a central Austin location in a neighborhood close to work and ideal for raising a young family. They love the charm of historic Bryker Woods, but also appreciate clean contemporary lines. We used a careful mix of styles and materials that are unique to this home style.
Using both Contemporary and Transitional styles, we included elements to the design that harken back to the period of the historic neighborhood.
This is best seen in the large kitchen area – the traditional white cabinetry featuring glass inserts sit amidst the modern stained concrete floor, the cleanly-lined wood columns, and industrial lighting.
The kitchen also features a beautiful contrasting island and houses the owner’s incredible stained glass window, which adds to the traditional feel of the cabinets throughout the kitchen.
The wonderful blend of styles work similarly in the master bathroom with the use of more contemporary materials and a stunning soaker tub with clean lines that mix seamlessly with the charming traditional cabinetry.
